Specific Rules for Patients from the European Union – Cross-Border Care

If the EU patient uses the Hungarian system of care provision based on Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union as part of cross-border care, then two conjunctive conditions shall be fulfilled besides the above-described system:

Citizens of EU Member States shall be entitled to use healthcare with conditions identical to those applicable to those insured in Hungary.
The patient from one of the Member States shall pay the fees of using healthcare to the healthcare provider in accordance with the domestic rate of fees.
